This outfit was the outfit I wore to the Lana Del Rey concert in Montreal back at the beginning of the summer. Speaking of, my Montreal vlog is now up on my youtube channel! If you haven't seen it, you can check it out here...(just a little shameless plug).

If you couldn't tell, the photos of this outfit weren't actually taken in Montreal, they were taken back in my home town. This is mainly because I didn't have time to take any photos before the concert. We were only in Montreal for a little over a day, so naturally I spent the entire day shopping. I was the last one back to our hotel room to get ready before the concert and actually purchased the wedges I'm wearing in the photo about ten minutes before I began the process of getting ready. When I finally made it back to the hotel there wasn't much time to get ready before heading to dinner. Then, we left later for dinner than anticipated and to make the situation even better, our dinner was late coming out. Because of this, we were late arriving to the concert. But, we eventually made it...and only missed half of the opening act. Regardless, it was such a fun day/night and the concert was AMAZING.

Trying to find an outfit to wear to the Lana Del Rey concert was surprisingly difficult because there's essentially two ways you can go with it. There's either the grunt-ier side of Lana or the girl-ier side. I decided to take a girl-ier approach. I paired a soft coloured body con, with a lacy kimono and some wedges. Although, slightly on the dressier side, the outfit was surprisingly comfortable. I ended up being extremely grateful for this considering we had to practically run from dinner to the concert.

At the beginning of the summer my friends and I took a little trip to Ottawa to visit one of our best friends that moved there a few years ago. I intended to make this blog post after we returned home from the trip but, I've been extremely lazy and I have only gotten around to creating this blog post now. Not because it took an excessively long time to make this blog post but, because of what is to follow this blog post. So, without giving TOO much away there may or may not be a new video coming out.

This particular day we did a lot of tourist-y things. We went shopping, took photos and explored downtown Ottawa. Since we were on the go all day I decided to keep it casual and comfortable. Both my top and shorts were from Brandy Melville and essentially felt like I was wearing pjs in public (completely fine by me). And what better way to finish off a casual, comfortable pair of good ol' Chuck's.

Fashion week has officially begun. This week marks the start of yet another New York Fashion Week and yet another year my invitation has gotten lost in the mail...please, let's spare my feelings and pretend that's the case. So, while my Instagram feed is flooded with photos from bloggers and designers with a front row seat to fashion week, I am in bed, eating chocolate, watching New York Fashion Week stream live. Who's the real winner here?

So far I have loved the Marissa Webb and Erin Fatherston collections. Each collection boasted femininity, Webb's with a slight edge, and Featherston's on the girlier side. Nonetheless, both were absolutely stunning. If you are like me and can't seem to find your NYFW invitation either, you can check out the live stream here

In other news, while fashion week kicked off, I went back to school. Even better than being at fashion week, am I right ladies? But in all honesty, I am happy to be back. Another year at university marks another year closer to having a real, big girl job. I say that now, but give it another couple of weeks when midterms begin and I think my opinions toward school will be VERY different.

Since school is starting back up again it means we are also beginning the transition from summer to fall. It can be kind of difficult to know how to dress during this weird, transitional stage. It's too warm to dress in fall clothing but there is still a chill in the air. A great way to transition your wardrobe from summer to fall is by pairing long, light weight tops with thicker shorts. For my outfit I paired a light-weight, chambray shirt with thick, vegan leather shorts. I finished the look with a pair of strappy heels for an overall more feminine look.
